IF YOU DON'T LIKE MISA, DON'T BOTHER TO READ THIS. ALSO, THIS WILL BE FILLED WITH DEATH NOTE SPOILERS, AT LEAST FOR THE ANIME.

So, I feel like Misa Misa isn't appreciated enough. She may not be the smartest character, and I may think she makes bad choices, but there are things I like about her. Things beyond her incredibly awesome hair.

At first I didn't like Misa that much. I thought she was stupid and annoying. Part of me really thought that she wasn't a worthwhile character, and only was annoyed by her. I was completely aware that if she had never showed up, that L might not be dead.

Eventually I started thinking about her more though, trying to understand her role in the show. I thought about her back story, and how there were so many bad things she went through, yet she never complained. I put myself in her shoes. I let myself think, "If I truly believed I had been saved by Kira, and then found a Death Note, how would I react." I certainly wouldn't be happy to have it, nor would I trade for shinigami eyes, but I think I would want to find Kira. I'd want to thank him, though I'd probably give him the Death Note, and let my memory be erased. Saying thank you would be enough. If he asked it though, I would likely help him.

I don't support Kira, or like him, but I am willing to admit that I am not perfect, and likely be only somewhat smarter than Misa in her situation. And eventually, I'd probably break down, and give up, unable to withstand my guilt. Yet she can be happy, where I so easily find myself miserable. I would wish I could turn a blind eye on things, and just be happy, yet I would know that would be wrong.

Anyway, so now I like Misa, I understand her better. I may not like some of her choices, but when I wouldn't do much better, I can't say much on that. I really don't feel she deserves as much crap as she gets, and I am personally a Misa fan. Anyway, if you don't agree, then you don't have to bother me. Either way, I still support Misa Misa.
